Supercast has always been built to help creators deepen their relationships with their audiences. Today, we're excited to bring a powerful new dimension to that relationship: 

Livestreaming and video premieres are now available to all creators on Supercast!

Creators can connect their existing streaming software and go live directly on Supercast.

Subscribers get app or email notifications the moment a stream starts, making it easy to join live conversations, events, and exclusive programming as it happens. Even pre-recorded video can become a live event with video premieres, complete with a pre-show countdown, live chat, and polling. During live streams and premieres, viewers can pin their comments in exchange for tips — another effective way to earn from your audience while they're most engaged.

We built this with existing workflows in mind, so creators can add it to what they're already doing instead of rebuilding around it. The goal is simple: give creators an easy way to turn their subscription communities into active, shared experiences, all in one place.

We've been rolling this out with a group of creators over the past few weeks, and it's been fun to see how differently each one has used it.

8x More Engagement with Live Premieres

Early data shows episodes released as Live Premieres are seeing roughly 8x the comment engagement of a standard episode release, a sign that subscribers aren't just tuning in, they're showing up to be part of the conversation.

What Creators Are Saying

‍Kill Tony is the closest thing podcasting has to a live rock show. Every Monday night, comedians line up at Comedy Mothership in Austin for a shot at one minute in the spotlight, and the room decides in real time whether they sink or swim. So when Tony Hinchcliffe wanted Kill Tony+ subscribers to feel that same energy from home, Live Premieres was a natural fit. "The Kill Tony+ community has been loving the ad-free experience and Live Premieres of the show," Tony told us. "Finally, the online audience has a place to congregate in real time and watch Kill Tony as a group. It's the next best thing to being here in Austin."

The Greatest Generation has spent ten years building one of the most devoted fan communities in podcasting around two guys rewatching Star Trek. When co-hosts Benjamin Ahr Harrison and Adam Pranica were ready to unveil a new role-playing game for their subscriber audience on Supercast, they used video premieres to debut an animated video introducing it, with fans following along and reacting together in the chat as it happened. "This was a really fun experience and something I know we'll have a lot more use for in the future," Ben said. "It was really delightful to get that real-time feedback from our audience."

‍Theories of the Third Kind has built its audience through meticulous, research-driven episodes on everything from cryptids to cover-ups, released week after week. For hosts Aaron and Dan, live streaming gave their subscriber community a place to gather, not just listen. "Everything was incredibly smooth, and we were impressed by how polished the whole experience felt, from stream quality to audience interaction," they told us. "Most of all, the fans want more."

Each show found its own reason to go live, and the same thing happened every time: subscribers showed up, stuck around, and asked for more.
